Course description
This 5-day practical sailing or power
course is a finishing course culminating
in an examination for Yachtmaster
Offshore. Candidates will live aboard
the vessel for the week revising
refreshing and practicing all elements
of the syllabus.
Examination and Assessment
The course is examined by practical
assessment.
Pre entry requirements
Candidates should have the following
minimum qualifying experience: 2500
logged miles, 50 days at sea, 5 Days as
skipper, 5 passages of over 60 miles
including 2 over night and 2 as skipper.
In addition a VHF operators certificate
and a first aid certificate.
Personal Kit
Candidates should provide suitable
clothing for prolonged periods at sea in
cool conditions. (Waterproofs can be
provided) A detailed list of inclusions
will be provided with your joining
instructions.
Course Information
Candidates will live afloat for the
duration of the course. Training will be
provided for the first three days of the
course examinations will span the final
two days, individual examinations taking
between 8 and 12 hours.
